Stop, breathe, don’t think of anything, stay in that gap in between thoughts. Sure that takes practice, but when you can do it, and for longer periods of time, you’ll find a sense of calm, and at the same time more ideas coming to you. Perhaps because while your mind is not busy feeding you thoughts, it has time to organize ideas in the background, don’t know, but it works for me.

Deepak Chopra says the gap in between your thoughts is your “pure consciousness”. Wayne Dyer says “…it’s a space that allows us to build, create, imagine, and manifest all that we’re capable of creating with those thoughts.”

To me, it’s a part of self-care, and one of my meditations is to just hear what I’m hearing and see what I’m seeing (I picture the room in meditating in) and not let any thoughts enter. Of course they eventually do, but then I get back in the gap and try to stay there longer.

I also try to get and stay in the gap when I’m doing things that don’t require thinking, like washing dishes, and have found myself coming up with new creative projects.

Again, to me this is self-care, and self-care is important to me because it helps you connect to yourself, which is what I want my poetry and art to accomplish for you. Because when you connect to your true self, that’s when you can live your best life.

Canvas Description

  • Each custom stretched canvas begins with a 12-colour Giclée print.

  • We then make a custom wooden frame - in any size needed up to a maximum of 3 meters - and stretch the rolled canvas print over it.

  • The canvas is then hand finished by our experienced framing team, who ensure each corner fold is perfectly smooth and tight.

  • Premium stretcher bar in 1.5 inches, made from a heavy, superior quality wood milled from the finest quality European kiln-dried knotless pine.

  • Each canvas frame is milled with a curved profile; minimizing contact with the face of the canvas; preventing unsightly impression marks and surface cracking.

  • We use finger jointed canvas frames to create corner tension which helps to resist warping. For larger sizes, we add wooden ‘wedges’ to each corner; ensuring the canvas surface remains taut and allowing for easy re-stretching in future years.
