The poetry was written a long time ago, but the artwork came years later, as digital art - you can find the feeling behind the poem in the original digital artwork here.

I love doing digital art as I feel it’s the fastest and sometimes the most accurate way for me to get out the art that’s in my head.

But for this piece, a couple of years after creating the digital art, I decided to do something different - not to paint it, but to personally mold the figure and each letter and punctuation in clay with my hands.

I thought it was going to be easy, but I was wrong - attaching 2 to 3 curved pieces of one letter, making sure I followed my font-style, and that each letter was the same height, or as close as I can get, proved to be much more difficult than I expected.

The figure was a challenge too, trying to get the dimensions/ratios of the curves correct and attaching them before the clay would start becoming less pliable.

I’m glad I took on this project as it gave me the confidence to know I can do it, and will continue to use this medium for future artworks, molding art and poetry.

I know it’ll be difficult, but now I know I can accomplish it.
